I have scoured the web in the past for good HDB housing resources. Sadly I think I lost my bookmarks. Just managed to looked through the web again for some resources that I can recall.

Those with ** are Recommended!

There is actually one more website that allows you to play with a map function and search for a HDB property. Super useful but I cannot find the bookmark now!

Roving Caricature Artists for Wedding Entertainment?

I recently attended a company function at a pub and they had roving caricature artists to entertain the guests. I'd thought it made an interesting entertainment item for bored people (oh we do have lots of those people at the usual weddings).

Chancing the opportunity that we might hire someone like them for our wedding dinner for entertainment, I promptly asked for their names and contact - Wilson Lee (drawing as below) and William Lee (cutter as on left). Don't ask me whether they are brothers or not though. I've their contacts with me but am not publishing them here for their privacy.

Might drop them a call if we are interested at a later stage.

Wedding Pyrotechnics Resource

Addy has been telling me about wedding pyrotechnics and it is one option we can considering to add sparks (don't mind the pun) to our wedding celebrations. It would be fun to explore it as well.

So happens that the owner (i think) of the company below is one of Addy's kid's parents at Shichida and he sent her a mail. He gave us some private resources but I figure sharing his website is ok for reference.

Deciding on the Date

As you can see, we do have a problem in picking a date for the marriage.

Although we are Catholics by faith, we have been taught to respect our parents and our family elders, and that includes their beliefs and religion too. The elders have indicated preferences but say they leave it up to us to decide on the dates. However, Adeline and I have decided to accommodate as much (after discussions, that is) to see how we can fit in the dates, time, theme and place of the wedding.

At this current junction, it seems that we have only 4 good “weekend days” in Q4 2009, of which 3 are Fridays and 1 is a Sunday.

That particular Sunday (101010) is a date in which I had earlier decided (and told to many of my friends during Project 999) that it would be a date that I would least consider due to the popularity of the date. And Sundays are not usually days to hold weddings as they are Sabbath. (Do correct me if I am wrong).
I have proposed to Adeline that we can see a priest and ask around for opinions on  101010. Would be perfect if we could get that date but then we might be a little late.

On that note, the wedding date to be on 101010 does not mean that the wedding dinner or lunch will be the same date. We are contemplating to have the meal on a separate weekend after the wedding.
Would be less shag too, for us and for all our dear family and friends attending.
Do let us know your kind views.

Hi Bloggie!

Just back from Batam! Was eager to hear my mum because she went to consult this lady about the "good wedding dates" over the weekend. Well sad to say, there were no good saturdays available.

Here's the list of the "no-nos" saturdays:

1) 23rd Oct 2010
2) 13th Nov 2010
3) 15th Jan 2011

According to her, sat are really bad because they clash with some animal signs of either us or our parents.

Here's a list of Fri or Sundays that are good:

1) 24th Sep 2010 (Fri)
2) 10th Oct 2010 (Sun)
3) 17th Dec 2010 (Fri)
4) 14th Jan 2011 (Fri)

As you can see, that leaves us with little choice. 10/10/10? Wow dunno how many couples are going to get married on that day. And it's difficult to have church wedding mass on Fri too.. who will attend? Hm.. let's see how we are going to solve this..

Actually my mum did mention that it's ok to have on other sat except the no-no saturdays. Hm just that it's not good too..
